Work Related

So today at work one of the local priests asked me this joke today:

"How do you make God laugh?", he asked.
"I have no idea, there must be a few different ways... why?" said I.
"Tell him what you're going to do tomorrow."

I have a response for him for next time.

"Do you know how to make God smile?"
"How?"
"Thank him for today."

Do you want  God to laugh, or smile in your direction right this moment? I would rather have him smile, and believe me when I say that I will do something tomorrow, that it will happen. Sure, some things are set in stone, like appointments and meals, but what about those promises that I said I would do when I was in trouble?
I said that I would do that piece of homework tomorrow... does He believe me? When I was hurting and said that if He took away the pain I would pray every night, did He believe me? If tomorrow, something were to happen and I make another empty promise, will He believe me then as well?
God's love is everlasting. He gives love like He would with charity. Charity is what we give others that we don't believe deserve, but we give it to them anyways.
Do you want to receive Charity from Him, or do you want to receive His love? Do you not want to receive His true love, or do you want to receive love that you don't deserve?
The priest today truly gave me a lesson to learn that I can carry with me for a long time. In one short riddle, I learned more today about my actions than a lecture from a professor.

EMT's

When the Lord made EMT’s, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, “You’re doing a lot of fiddling around on this one.”
And the Lord said, “Have you read the specs on this order? An EMT has to be able to carry an injured person up a wet, grassy hill in the dark, dodge stray bullets to reach a dying child unarmed, enter homes the health inspector wouldn’t touch, and no...t wrinkle their uniform.”
“They have to be able to lift 3 times their own weight, crawl into wrecked cars with barely enough room to move, and console a grieving mother as they are doing CPR on a baby they know will never breathe again.”
“They have to be in top mental condition at all times, running on no sleep, black coffee and half-eaten meals. And they have to have six pairs of hands.”
The angel shook her head slowly and said, “Six pairs of hands…no way.”
“It’s not the hands that are causing me problems,” said the Lord, “It’s the three pairs of eyes a medic has to have.”
“That’s on the standard model?” asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. “One pair that sees open sores as they’re drawing blood and asks the patient if they may be HIV positive,” (when they already know and wish they’d taken that accounting job.) Another pair here in the side of the head for their partners’ safety. And another pair of eyes here in front that can look supportively at a frightened person and gently explain that their spouse of many years has departed this life.”
“Lord,” said the angel, touching his sleeve, “rest and work on this tomorrow.”
“I can’t,” said the Lord, “I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk out from behind a steering wheel without incident and feed a family of five on a private service paycheck.”
The angel circled the model of the medic very slowly, “Can it think?” she asked.
“You bet,” said the Lord. “It can tell you the symptoms of 100 illnesses; recite drug calculations in its sleep; intubate, defibrillate, medicate, and continue CPR nonstop over terrain that any doctor would fear…and still it keeps its sense of humor. This medic also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with a multi-victim trauma, coax a frightened elderly person to unlock their door, comfort an assault victim’s family, and then read an article in the daily paper about responders being too slow to locate a house (a house which had no street sign and no house numbers.)”
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the medic. “There’s a leak,” she pronounced. “I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model.”
“That’s not a leak,” said the Lord, “It’s a tear.”
“What’s the tear for?” asked the angel.
“It’s for bottled-up emotions, for patients they’ve tried in vain to save, for commitment to that hope that they will make a difference in a person’s chance to survive, for seeing an accident victim walk again, for the family time they will miss while serving the community, for life.”
“You’re a genius,” said the angel.
The Lord looked somber. “I didn’t put it there,” He said.

What Is Love

Slow down for three minutes to read this. It
is so worth it.

Touching words from the mouth of babes.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds,

'What does love mean?'

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined

See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'

Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.

You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'

Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'

Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'

Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'

Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'

Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that.

They look gross when they kiss'

Emily - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents

And listen.'

Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate, '

Nikka - age 6

(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day..'

Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'

Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'

Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody

You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'

Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'

Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford .'

Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'

Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'

Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.'
(what an image)

Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross..'

Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'

Jessica - age 8

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there..

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this.

Heavenly Father, please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You. Amen.

Then send it on to five other people, Within hours you caused a multitude of people to pray for other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life.

P. S. Five is good, but more is better..

God Bless You!

Footprints in the Sand

One day I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to me, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, You said that once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I Carried You."

What Happens in Heaven When We Pray?

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked
side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide
stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received."
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels
sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a
very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed.
"How is it that there is no work going on here?" I asked.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they
asked for, very few send back acknowledgments."
"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked.

"Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.
"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy."
"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity."

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day."
"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 700 million people in the world."

"If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are envied by and more blessed than three billion people in the world."
"If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare."

"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair."

"Ok, what now? How can I start?"

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
Have a good day. Count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along to
remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

ATTN: Acknowledge Department

"Thank you, Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for

giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it."

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed
with, how can you not send it on? I thank God for everything, especially all

my family and friends.

Santa Barbara

The first picture and the last picture are taken at the beach in Santa Barbara right next to the pier.
There is a veterans group that started putting a cross and candle for every death in Iraq and Afghanistan
.
The amazing thing is that they only do it on the weekends
. They put up this graveyard and
Take it down every weekend
. Guys sleep in the sand next to it and keep watch over it at night so
Nobody messes with it.

Every cross.....has the name, rank and D.O.B. And D.O.D., on it.

Very moving, very powerful??? So many young volunteers. So many 30 to 40 year olds, as well.

Amazing !

Did you know that the ACLU has filed a suit to have all military cross-shaped headstones removed?,

And that they filed another suit to end prayer from the military completely.
They're making great progress.

He Knows My Sunshine

As long as He knows where to place the sunshine for me

I don't need a man in my life
Except for the ones who love me
I don't need a path laid out for me
As long as he knows what is best for me
I don't need my own singing voice
As long as there is music made by Him
I don't need to have a ring on my finger
To know that the man I love is true

He sends sunshine to light my way

The devil may send artificial light
In belief that I will follow
But what I know is what he doesn't know
Is that I have my own eternal sunshine
That only He can fuel forever

God is Never Wrong

GOD IS NEVER WRONG!

A king who did not believe in the goodness of God, had a slave who, in all circumstances, said: My king, do not be discouraged, because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes!
One day they went hunting and along the way a wild animal attacked the king. His slave managed to kill the animal, but could not prevent his majesty losing a finger. Furious and without showing his gratitude for being saved, the nobleman said "Is God good? If He was good, I would not have been attacked and lose my finger." The slave replied: "My king, despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good, and he knows the "why" of all these things.
What God does is perfect. He is never wrong!"
Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave. Later, he left for another hunting trip and was captured by savages who made human sacrifices. On the altar, ready to sacrifice the nobleman, the savages found that the victim had not one of his fingers, so he was released.
According to them, he was not so complete to be offered to the gods. Upon his return to the palace, he authorized the release of his slave whom he received very affectionately. "My dear, God was really good to me! I was almost killed by the wild men, but for the lack of a single finger, I was let go! But I have a question: if God is so good, why did he allow me to put you in jail?"
"My King, if I had gone with you in this hunt, I would have been sacrificed for you, because I have no missing finger, therefore, remember everything God does is perfect. He is never wrong." Often we complain about life, and negative things that happen to us,
forgetting that nothing is random and that everything has a purpose.
Every morning, offer your day to God, don't be in a rush. Ask God to inspire your thoughts, guide your actions, and ease your feelings. And do not be afraid. God is never wrong! You know why this message is for you? I do not know, but God knows, because he never makes mistakes.......
The path of God and his word is perfect, without impurities. He is the way of all those who trust in Him, as he says in 2 Samuel  22: 31.  "God's way is unerring; the promise of the LORD is fire-tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him."
What you do with this message is up to you. May God put in your heart the desire to send it to someone. God knows why He chose you to receive this message. Please bless someone with it. God is never wrong!

Shirley & Marcy

A mother was concerned about her kindergarten son, Timmy, walking to school.
He didn't want his mother to walk with him.

She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.

So she had an idea of how to handle it.

She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.

The neighbor said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.
The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew.
She did this for the whole week.

As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week.

Finally she said to Timmy,
'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?'
Timmy nonchalantly replied,
'Yeah, I know who she is.'
The little girl said,
'Well, who is she?'
'That's just Shirley Goodnest ,
' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy ....'
'Shirley Goodnest? Who is she and why is she following us?
'Well,' Timmy explained,
'every night my Mum makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much.
And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest
(surely goodness) and Marcy
(mercy) shall follow me all the days of my life',
so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today and always

I know you smiled!
I sure did, Pass this on
And brighten someone's day

Northern Lights

Beautiful pictures.......................................

Northern Lights Over Teepees

These are spectacular and the teepees are so pretty in the dark But, check out that thermometer!

NORTHERN LIGHTS, YELLOW KNIFE , CANADA

BELOW IS A FIRE RAINBOW - THE RAREST OF ALL NATURALLY OCCURRING
ATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENA. THE PICTURE WAS CAPTURED ON THE IDAHO, WASHINGTON BORDER. THE EVENT LASTED ABOUT 1 HOUR.

Absolutely Breathtaking....

CLOUDS HAVE TO BE CIRRUS, AT LEAST 20K FEET IN THE AIR, WITH JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ICE CRYSTALS AND THE SUN HAS TO HIT THE CLOUDS AT PRECISELY 58
DEGREES.

God's handiwork..Beautiful sight!

Pass along for others to see!

Father and Daughter

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very Liberal

Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in Favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other Words redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the Lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that She was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people She knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends, because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?' She replied, ' Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are Easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She Is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.'

Her wise father asked his daughter, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA, and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.' The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, 'That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!'

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to the conservative philosophy'.

If anyone has a better explanation of the difference between Conservative and Liberal I'm all ears.  And, if you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Well, I forwarded it to you.

Great Idea: In God We Trust

Payback is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WRITE IT ON THE BACK OF YOUR ENVELOPES

Or front
WE THINK THIS IS A GREAT IDEA. WE'LL START WRITING IT ON THE
FRONT OF OUR ENVELOPES, TOO! ----------Including Bills

You may have heard in the news that a couple of Post Offices in Texas  have been forced to take down small posters that say
'IN GOD WE  TRUST ,'
The law, they say, is being violated.

Anyway, we heard proposed on a radio station show, that we should all write
' IN  GOD WE TRUST'  On the back of all our mail.
After all, that's our National Motto, and -----
All the money we use to buy stamps.
We think it's a wonderful idea.
We must take back our nation from all the people who think that anything that offends them should be removed.

If you like this idea, please pass it on and DO IT. The idea of writing or stamping.......... 'IN GOD WE TRUST '  On our envelopes sounds good to us ..
SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING A STAMP MADE TOO........ Lets use it as our signature on e-mails, too!
It's been reported that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, we have a very hard time understanding why there's such a mess about having 'God We Trust!'  On our money and having God in the pledge of Allegiance.
Could it be that WE just need to take action and tell the 14% to 'sit down and shut up'?

If you agree, pass this on, if not, delete!!!
BUT REMEMBER IF YOU DELETE THIS,That's one reason why this world is in the mess we're in now.

WE SIT BACK & LET IT HAPPEN!!

IN  GOD  WE TRUST

A Small Request

In memory of our moms, dads, brothers and sisters, friends and loved ones of whom there are so many..and those fighting it today...

This year has been one with too many diagnoses too close to home.  For all the friends, family, loved ones, and those we don't even know...
Friday is world cancer day -
I'd appreciate it if you will forward this request
 93% won't forward

A small request... Just one line.

Dear God, I pray for a cure for cancer.  Amen
All you are asked to do is keep this circulating, even if it's only to one more person. In memory of anyone you know who has been struck down by cancer or is still living with it.

A Candle Loses Nothing by Lighting Another Candle..

Please Keep This Candle Going
