S.O. [10]

"The sun may always rise with the new morning, yet none of it makes sense until you explain it to me with your eyes."

As you may know, I am not in a relationship right now, with one of the opposite sex mind you, and commenting on this may bite me in the buttocks later on. However I'm going about this in a few different ways.

First of all, have you ever played the trust game? When you close your eyes trusting that the person behind you will catch you? How about when someone is describing something to you, and you try to get a general idea of what the article the person is describing? Gogh once received a letter from a friend that described a rhinoceros. Gogh tried to draw the rhinoceros, however his design did not look anything like what the friend had first described. At least, so was the rumor that my art teacher once told me.
Have you ever asked someone to describe beauty? Or something as beautiful as a sunrise? The sun does rise every day, but with a different sunrise every morning. How could one star so close to us provide us with so many spectacular phenomenons? However, if you were blind, or could not see as far as the sunset on the horizon, how would you ask someone to describe it to you? Colors would become meaningless, and shapes, well everyone has seen a circle on a line. How could you describe the richness of the colors, the palate of colors that God has created across the heavens, the deep silent diminishing rising of the clouds and the twinkling of the late night stars that lightly pepper across the skies? Would there be an explanation? Are you thinking of a sunrise that you had seen once, perhaps when riding the bus and you were caught by surprise in the early hours. Or if you were driving home late one night from a concert and you reached the time of sunrises and stopped the car to revel in the beauty. Could you describe the sunrise that you saw to me? Would you be able to write it on paper, whisper it into your lovers ear, or even remember it years from now?

Another way to look at this is considering how sunrises make us feel. It brings on a new day, light warms the world and all has another chance to breathe. The monsters retreat in the darkness of the shadows, the flowers open and there is a fresh scent, as if the world began anew again in such a short time as a sunrise. I understand it all, as I have seen many sunrises, both with the true horizons at 4 a.m. as the sun peaked over the edge of the great ocean, in the arms of a lover, and waiting for the bus with friends. If I did have a lover though, who wished to describe the beauty of the sunrise to me, before I turned to dust, I would love to hear his voice. During sunrises though, you don't need a voice, all you need is silence and understanding.

Beauty cannot be duplicated, it cannot be surpassed or completely destroyed for its beauty will live on, become more beautiful and capture the hearts of many. Perhaps this is why God provides us with such a event every morning of our lives. He wants to share beauty with the world. Bring me a man who understands this, and I would like to share a sunrise with him.

Beautiful Night

Blinking red lights in the distance
Between the trees, almost winking
Stream of red lights falling slowly over a hill
Only white lights in front now

Steady white lights rising over the hill
Flashing between the falling rain drops
Suddenly with a whoosh go by
Become the blinking red lights running away

Blue lights racing towards the steady red lights
Intermingle with the red and white
The white slows and stops
The red dissapears over the dark hills

The rain pours onto the black stream
Rivers trickle down the screen
Obstructing the view of the driver
That is all he remembers

The flashing red and blue lights come closer...

Coffee Run

Yes, the outfit is climbing a tree. No, the outfit did not get very high, it almost lost its balance to fall two feet back to solid ground. Yes, you can stop laughing now.
This was good for a coffee run in the middle of studying for the dreaded finals. The green tank top is acutally a halter, which made it that much more difficult to wear. Therefore, to even out the weight I placed a black beater underneath the green one to give the outfit a more 'layared' look. Not too terrible, seeing how the two shirts together actually looked like one!
To pair it all off off I put a pair of jean capri's on, which was a good choice seeing that the path was full of mud. Hence... no sandals seen in the picture. They were covered in mud.
I like layaring, perhaps you will too!

Lesson #10

Sorry for the horrid picture, but this was an idea that we came up with after camp last week. My little man is allergic to a few things, hence the odd looking bread. His parent made his bread before I arrived and left it in a little baggy for me (TIP: DON'T FORGET TO ASK IF YOUR CHILD IS ALLERGIC TO ANYTHING!!) and I was asked to work around that for snacks and such.
We used the extra bread, peanut butter (fortunately he wasn't allergic to peanut butter!) plus half a banana. He already ate half of the banana for lunch... so what to do with the rest of the banana?
Spider Sandwiches!
My little guy is four years old and LOVES bugs. To honor him here is his new sandwich, Spider Sandwich. We named it so because the little seeds in the inside of the banana looks like a squished spider, upon closer inspection it really does, trust me. He loved the idea of Squids (Hot dogs and spaggetti) and so I thought, why not give Spider Sandwiches a try?

Recipe: Peanut Butter, 1/2 a Banana and a Bagal.
1. Spread the peanut butter over the bagal, or anykind of bread that you have available.
2. Stick bite sized pieces of the banana in round pieces around the bagal.
3. Serve on a Spider man plate and enjoy! (Actually the plate was picked out of random!)

Enjoy! And keep your inner four year old self happy!

New No Button

Well I went shopping today and I fell in LOVE with this brown no button short sleeve sweater. I absolutely fell in LOVE with it and could not walk out of the store without it, and for $7, who could blame me? The pink tank I had just recently picked up from another store for less than $4 and the pants I had been hanging on to, jeans mind you and the necklace I recieved as a Christmas gift.
Typically the no button sweater would drop low by itself but I didn't think that you'd be able to see the pink tank without me showing off a little. For shoes I actually wore white small heeled flip flops which gave me just enough light colors to lighten up on the all the darker colors that I was wearing.
All in all the outfit cost less than twenty dollars, and thats really all I like spending! And the best part was, this entire outfit was picked up in department stores, not in my favorite shops in the whole wide world, my cousins closet and other places. With the climbing prices these days, I truly hate spending money on clothes, but I would rather spend after I get rid of clothes, and I am proud to say, I have two bags ready to be donated tomorrow!
Happy Hunting!

Titanic

"Titanic was called the ship of dreams and it was it really was." - Rose

Titanic is a beautiful movie and can be enjoyed over and over again. Rose and Jack are two lovers who meet on the ship named the Titanic, she was about to jump over the edge but he saved her. This sparked the relationship between them, that would last over a short time.

Titanic was doomed from the start, first being named after another doomed ship, then the 'we-don't-need-to-do-an-emergency-test" attitude, then in the end sinking because of an inattentive late night watch that was covered up years later.

This story however false, is still a beautiful love story. Rose and Jack are two young adults beginning their lives on the ship of dreams, Rose was going to America to marry and Jack was returning home after winning his tickets from a card game. Rose was a wealthy, first class woman who lived under who lived under her mothers and fiance's thumbs. When Rose was with Jack she felt free, and able to live her life a little more on the wild side. Honestly, who else could you go running around a giant ship running from the law and finally have some fun in the lower areas?

Chases lead to more as finally the inevitable happens, the ship strikes the iceberg. No matter how many history books you read, or how many documentaries you read you can never fathom how much destruction there truly was.

The love story was incorporated into the story wonderfully, however the director did a wonderful job of presenting part of the worlds history in movie. I can't describe it all, you will have to watch it yourself. Understand though, as there may be love, there is history. And you cannot change history.

The Wind in the Willows

The Wind In The Willows is a comical story that tells the tale of adventerous friends that truly have one goal in mind, keep Toad out of trouble. The tale begins with little Mole adventuring outside of his home in search of a place where he doesn't have to do spring cleaning, and we all know how that feels. Ick, Cleaning!
Toad meets Ratty and they have adventures up and down the river, Mole falls in love with the River and decides to learn as much as he could about it. However, Rattys good friend decides to make an appearance and turns Moles life up and down. You see, Toad is a rich little fellow who can't get enough of new gadgets. He can move from idea to idea in less than a fortnight, and in the same amount of time spends and spends his dear fathers money.
One day Mole decides to have an adventure on his own and goes into the Wide World where he falls victim to the scary forest. While lost he stumbles into a hollow lump where he stays while Ratty sleeps on. Ratty finds his dear friend, but unfortunately they need to find a safe shelter while an early winter storm attacks.
I'd love to tell you more about Ratty, Badger, Toad and dear Mole however it would take more than one blog to explain all of their doings and all of their comical, dangerous and sometimes just down right silly adventures.
Pick up a copy of The Wind in the Willows which shouldn't be too hard, it wasn't written today, it was written yesterday! The history buff that I am loves this book as well because in Wind in the Willow there is no modern equipment, no electronics, and the most advanced piece of history is the original motor car, which Toad finds himself in lots of trouble with!  So if you like talking animals, fiction, history and a sense of adventure, you will love this book!

S.O. [9]

"Some people dance. Not in the way you or me see, but in the lives they lead, and who they dance with will change their lives forever." -Anon.

Every day we dance, whether we realize it or not. We dance around the kitchen making breakfast, shuffling around looking for the coffee pot, the clean cup, snag the undercooked breakfast, etc.
We boogie into the warm shower, slip across the wet floor and have a foxtrot with the dry towels. You are dancing.
When we step outside of our boundries then we encounter more things to dance with, the busy traffic, the pedestrians on the sidewalks, avoiding the many tourist traps and more. You are dancing.
We find our friends and dance around giving hugs, throwing kisses and pulling out chairs to have lunch. Lunch is over and we stand up and dance for hugs, kisses and flirty looks to the cute waiters. Again we are dancing.
You get the drift.
Sometimes we meet new people, and we many at first try to dance around them to see who they really are. We don't want to dive in and dance a closer dance without first having a dance routine. First bow to your partner and eye them up and down, pershaps they will be a good dance partner, perhaps not. We keep dancing with them closer and closer, then finally the end of the night comes and either we continue dancing as the lights go up or somebody leaves, fast.
Some people you want to dance with for the longest time as possible, others you wish you were dancing only the square dance, where you see your partner only when its time to switch.
Other times you wish that you could dance to the same tune for the longest time as possible, or perhaps you wish to change the soundtrack and switch to another dance routine.
I don't mind how you dance, sometimes you dance to my soundtrack and to my steps, sometimes you dance to a different tune and with another woman. I don't mind at all. I'll lead, you lead, somebody else will lead. That is how I like to dance, and occasionally it matches up with the tunes of the world.

Just a bit Red...

Once again my lovely off white no button sweater decided to make an appearance today. And this time it is setting off a dark red three quater shirt that I once again bought for a play. For pants again those lovely blue pants that look like jeans far away made another appearance. It was a bit chilly this day when I went out and the double layering definetly saved me from the cold. For jewlery I wore a pearl necklace and pearl earrings. Fake, of course. Costume jewelry, my favorite! For shoes I wore heels with a silver buckle, set off my feet just right, and hid the awful bruise I recieved from a Great Dane...

The Wrong Dreams

Cried again before I drifted off to sleep
I wish instead of crying I would instead just count sheep
Dreamed again a sweet dream of a missing friend
I wish the best for him and I wish I could see him again
A deadly secret is what I learned last night
Unfortunetly it has set me off the edge, given me a fright
I don’t want to say that I want to see him once more
These new wounds certainly do feel really sore
I cried again and I’m not sure why
Perhaps it was a bad day at work, I’m still taking in ragged sighs
I want a relief pill if there is such a thing
But I want a cool relaxor, not this pain in my heart thats like a bee sting
My dear boy, O how I can’t go with you because you scare me so
You’re beyond my abilities and I’m afriad that everyday you’ll make me feel low
Mister S Theres a few things about you that can’t be changed
Too many tattoos, distractions, displays of affection and you’re still deranged
I’m not in love with you Sir C but you have to see
I’m not in love with you because you’re such a good friend to me
Monsiour I see you have a few advantages to being with you
And I’ll be frank and true, theres no other greater friend than you
Alas J it leaves you to be the last and I haven’t anymore words to say
Except for a few, and those are that I wish I could see you again today

Lesson #9

If you want hugs, then let them run the house for a few hours. Yes, let them, one at a time, run the house. Plus if you have sick kids, remember that laughter is the best medicine, not ignoring them while they sleep away the day. They still need to be active! I don't really like it when the kids are sitting on the couch not doing anything but today was a bit of a must. And so with one kid off at camp and the other sick at home, we had to do something without losing our minds!

I decided to make breakfast (even though, as she said, I "... burn alot of things.") and so we had Pancakes! Blueberry! Marshmellow! Plain Pancakes! And the little one (over 7) had the great idea to make a picnic breakfast indoors! And this is what she came up with, the clever girl!

So we had pancakes, syrup, and juice. The clever one wanted a candle light breakfast (unfortunatly, it was her Mom's good candle, so we had nothing of it!) And the she set up the whole breakfast table her self! I was quite proud, she's learning something from me!

And you know how many hugs I got out of the deal because I let her mix, crack the eggs, 'clean' the house and set up the breakfast table? Six! Six in one day! So, go get some love yourself!

Recipe:

1 C Bisquick Pancake Mix              Chocolate chips
1 Egg                                               Marshmellows
1/2 Cup Milk

1. Stir all ingrediants in a bowl, with a whisk or a spoon.
2. Ladle the mixture onto a pan, doesn't matter the size.
3. Cook until the undersides edges are golden brown, add decorations (chocolate chips, marshmellows etc.)
4. The second side often cooks faster then the first side, keep an eye on the underside and flip again.
5. When the pancakes are cooked to your favorite color, serve and enjoy! Just a word of warning, the marshmellows tend to stick to the pan so make sure that you clean the pan as soon as you can.

Hint: If the mixture is too 'thick' add a little bit more milk.

Class!

So Today I had class... bleaugh. It was fairly hot but in the classroom it gets chilly therefore today I didn't wear something so summery. This shirt is fairly light, it also has a high neck which I liked best of all that day, for I went home with a ghastly sun burn. The shirt also gives off a 'layered' look which hides my unsightliness. Those are also Bermuda Shorts, which are perfect in a classroom since after all... cold seats don't go well with bare legs. For shoes I wore white flipflops that had about half an inch of a heel, which was nice because it didn't catch while I was driving. Oh, and jewelry! I simply wore a necklace that had a single orange gem on the end. Simple, elegant and great for a cool classroom in the middle of the summer.
Did I mention that a very cute guy sits behind me too? Tehe!

7th Heaven

By: James Patterson and Maxine Paetro

A wonderful pick up for first time readers (like myself) of James Patterson! James Patterson is a renown author and takes his characters to the far reaches of madness to the sharp minds of the sane.

In this book, one of many in the Women's Mystery Club series, so far a series of eight books, as this is the seventh in the series. In it, the main character chases down the killer in a series of mysterious fires that point to a single arsonist. On the other hand she is trying to find the killer of the mayor's son, but the only suspect she truly has is a prostitute who appears to be young and innocent. Two mysteries that have nothing in common but the women who are investigating both crimes.

Patterson keeps you on the edge of your seat with action, crime, lust and a twist to the end of the tale that will leave you scratching your head.

I would say though, keep a latin definition book handy, three months in and still don't understand a word!

Twilight

And so the next movie is coming out soon, I know I'm a little behind, but if you haven't noticed, I"m not the biggest fan of Twilight. So I did this for all you Twilight fans out there. I am a fan of Taylor though, hence the many photos of him.
So Basically in the movie & in the movies of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn the story revolves around a mis-matched couple who live in Forks, Washington. And the book accurately describes the area which the residents were not too happy about. So many fans had shown up! In the movie a few shots are actually done in Forks, and Stephanie Meyer was astonished that the residents who were used as extras didn't really mind the cold. Fun fact!
So Bella, a bleached white female from Arizona (which I hope to visit again in the future, it is so pretty out there!) meets Edward who is a sparkly pansy vampire (sorry, I still don't like the movies! The books are better!) and abruptly decides that she doesn't like him. He turns out to be a vampire (she does research) and decides that hes actually okay. And there is the love for the century. (*hack!* Sorry, hairball. Oh wait, sorry Jacob, you're part comes in soon!)
Completely relevent, and I thought it was funny too. So Edward and his family (Jasper and Emmett included) accept Bella for being a tasty little human snack (I wish, they all turn out to be vegetarian vampires) and swear to protect her. Well worse comes to worse when some other vampires decide that Bella is a tasty little morsel and all hell breaks loose back in Arizona.

Next book.
They love each other. How wonderful. Bleaugh. Well Edward decides that he has to leave and tells Bella that he has to go and uses this opportunity to test her love. Pshaw. Well Bella runs to her old friend Jacob and again, all hell breaks loose. Oh by the way, Jacob has a secret which would kind of spoil everything if I told it here and now.
Book Three. Stuff happens, again, testing thier love, friendship and the ties that binds everyone together. *Koff Koff* Sorry Jacob, that one was from you. All hell breaks loose again, and well, the good guys win, again. Wait, good guys? If Jacob is on the good side then I'd hate to see whatever the bad side had for back up.
Uhm, Fourth Book? Yea, Fourth book.
Yes, what happens, happens and everyone is thrilled that it happend.  Yick. Jacob gets mad, Bella & Edward get lucky and well, everyone starts to sparkle. All hell breaks loose again, but this time its near Forks, Washington and that fight I'm actually looking forward too. Oh, and the fourth is the end, the epilouge of everything. Big soppy happy ending. My favorite ending to all that is:

Oh so how I wish..... Enjoy! If you want to. If you don't I won't feel bad. The rest of the fandom might though. I liked the books more than the movie, but when I saw the movie it all just about spoiled it for me. Oh and Kristen Stewert is in it too, and ya'll know how much I love her. *koff koff* *ACHOO!* Okay thats it Jacob, Beat it! Now I'm getting allergic to you!

Green with Envy

Well today aren't we looking a little 'green about the gills'? We've seen this top before (see children, the result of recycling?) But there is a difference! Notice the offwhite tank top underneath the green shirt. This is here to avoid any unwanted attention. Over is my new favorite off white no button shirt, which is just lovely. Then I have blue shorts (because after all, it is still summer!) however, I was debating, and it could be switched out with black capri's. There are black stripes in the shirt so it does match. For jewelry I matched up with the green necklace and there is green on my Pandora bracelet. And who needs shoes?

Hope you're having a fabulous summer too!

S.O. [8]

"People may not give in to lust, yet it is inescapable."

Lust, often associated with sex, if you consider that to be an exciting activity. I disagree with this one. Completely.

So say that (ladies) you happen to see a really annoyingly handsome man down by the beach. Long shorts, brown tan gorgeous blue eyes and pool water dripping off of him like sun rays off of a sun god. *Sigh* I saw him today actually. Tehe, lets call him Jake. So Jake. All I would love to see of him is his perfectly chisled body just coming out of that pool every morning, noon and night. Thats all. Lust? Nah. Want the hotness in my pool everyday? Yes!

I have not given into to lust. I just kinda gave into the want. The want of his sexy body in my pool. But I'll live with the memory hehe. So for me, its escapable, I've got his memory, but I don't need the lust.

I've been surviving without the lust for a few years, and I imagine I'll go for a few more. Except for the fact that I really want those red and white pumps... now those I'm lusting after... *wink*

Post

A few of you might know, but I enjoy writing letters and sending them to my friends, no matter the holiday. So far this year I have sent about 24 letters, and the year is almost half over already!
What I do to prepare for an upcoming holiday or what ever may be upcoming is keep an eye out for stray coupons or tag sales that may sell cards. At the last tag sale I picked up 15 cards, plus envelopes for $0.50! Not bad right? Most of them were Christmas since the birthday ones were for those over-the-hill, but you can't beat a bargain! The other day I was at CVS and found a coupon for $1.50 any card in the store. Needless to say I used that for an upcoming birthday. And the sales don't stop there! So as of right now I have lots of cards for lots of my friends, and with most of them, the deal was if I sent them one they'd send me one back. It's working, they let me know that they received the snail-mail, I mean, who doesn't love getting snail-mail?
I just received one that had a unicorn and was full of glitter! I was very excited about receiving that one, and I'm going to send her one right back! I also discovered in one of my many attempts at cleaning my room a few items that assist me in my post. I shall pass this on to you now, have fun with your snail mail!

My Indoor-Post-Box

I have a small box that fits the various supplies needed for a post-box. In mine I have:
- Spare letters that vary from Christmas, to Birthdays to Thank you to Blank.
- Gel Pens and other colorful writing utensils
- Stickers (to close the envelopes with and to add a touch of care)
- A notebook full of address
- A box of address labels (When else are you going to use them?)
- Photos (To add a touch of *you*)
- And last but not least, Stamps!

I keep track of how much I pay for the stamps, cards and what not. I figure I pay about $22.88 for stamps per year (estimate) plus about $1.00 per card. Since I have a surplus of cards The estimate has gone to about $50.00 this year on sending cards alone. But really, it's not just about the money. It's about feeling a little old fashioned, and being a little disconnected from the fast moving, technological world that we live in now. So I don't mind paying a little bit more if I know that I can bring a smile to my friends faces that real, not computer animated. I know we're moving into a world that's more automated by the minute, but if you don't mind, I'd rather be human for a few years more.

The Princess Bride

A fairy tale retold to a young boy while he was sick. A tale of true love, dashing men and of three kinds of kisses. Oh and of inconceivable situations. Inconceivable!
Also, who doesn't love young Cary Elwes? ♥

ORANGE you glad that I didn't say Banana?

I stole this one off of a girl that I go to class with, but don't tell her,
I'm getting a better grade than her too, hehe!
So this outfit stemmed from the recent hot days my region of the world
has been having. Starting off chilly then just getting blistering HOT.
I started off with a brown tank top and orange shorts.
Can't really walk around town in that, I am a modest girl after all...
Over that I added that off-white no-button shirt and cinched
it together with the black sparkly belt. For shoes I went with the
black flip flops which I abhor to drive in my car with.
So instead I have the leapord snakeskin print shoes, awesome right?
For jewelry I used orange jewelry to offset the orange shorts.
Every color is repeated at least once, not including the purple underwear,
wait... did I just write that to the masses? Tehe.
I'm wearing this while I'm out with one of my best girl-friends.
It's supposed to be hot, or nice, either way I'll be prepared,
with the umbrella and the sunblock that I packed too!

Tank: $2 - Forever 21
Shorts: $8 - Old Navy
Off White Shirt: $10
Belt: $2.50 - Forever 21
Jewelry: $10 - Christmas Tree Shop
Flip Flops: $3
Snake skin shoes: [Christmas Gift]
______________________________
= roughly $35.50 that I actually never paid due to a trick called RE USING CLOTHES

Have fun with this fashion idea! ☺

Affair with the Convertible

The open road never before seemed so inviting
The wind never before flowing through my hair
The exciting thrill of being a passenger
The guilty pleasure of being in someone else's girl

The car pulled up so easily
No sudden jerks or odd little squeaks
No strange little scratches or markings from the birds

The door was opened, in my mind
Not by the one who was actually driving
But by my future husband in a future time

I slid into the white seats and looked around
I felt so free so alive so guilt-free, for the moment
Then we started the drive...

The fresh air never seemed so cleaner
Breezes flitted through my hair
My hands searched over the windshield
Grasping for a sun ray that streamed down from the blue sky

The clouds were too slow
Soon found themselves behind our tracks
We laughed at the ease of our freedom
How quickly we had shed off the cares of the day

A short ride later found ourselves at the secret beach
Where we waded in the warm water with the small fish
Butterflies flitted around our heads
Cheerful birds joined in our childish worry less chatter

Another ride later we found ourselves
Sipping drinks in his messy cellar
Soon driving again after a short search for the keys
Again searching for the for the elusive sun rays

A picnic on the dam
A little singing on his part
We packed it up and he brought me home
But I wish that I could keep riding

In that beautiful blue convertible...

S.O. [7]

'You can't save the world, but maybe you can save the person who means the world to you.'

There is always someone on your mind, whether it is your parent, sibling, significant other or best friend. Or perhaps the person who you know is not in the best situation. There is always someone on your mind.

But are you on someone elses? We always wonder who is thinking of us, our crush (the boy next door) or even your mothers. We never know and we may never know. Someday we may, but right now we don't.

For the time being though, can you think of how many times you've given you're all for someone that you really care about? There are people who would risk thier lives, run into fires offer thier own healty lungs. Someone out there would give the world for you to survive.

Think of it this way, how many heroes are there in the world? That actually fly and save hundreds of people a year? Besides firemen, doctors, policemen and lifegaurds, I'm not sure who does. I have met a few heroes, they live in my town. I appreciate all they have done for the community and in turn I hope to give a little back. None of these people can save the world but they do save people. Maybe not people they particularly like but they do save these people. These people are heroes.

Can you be a heroe to someone? Can you help the one person that means the world to you? Together we all can form together to be a hero to the world, but we can't be heroes individually to the world. Perhaps there are individuals who can become heroes, every day heroes, like those who rescue the cat from the high trees or someone who travels six lanes of traffic to give you a tank of gas. Let's unite to save the world, but still be the person who goes home and saves the person that truly means the world to you.

Give a smile too, they're free and easy to give out. You never know, it may actually makes somebodys world of a day.

Lesson #8

Always know what is in the house! Be it three children in stead of four, a rabid dog or a live-in grandparent, Always. Know. What. Is. In. The. House.

Case 1: If you are allergic to any animals, ask the parents if there are any such creatures in the house. This way the random allergy attack would not be coming from no where and you can be prepared with a box of tissue or allergy medication.
Real Life: Allergy to felines... anything. Wretched creatures.

Case 2: Inquire if there is an live-in relative. It's not the best situation when the live-in relative randomly shows up in the kitchen some afternoon and declares he's making lunch. Instead of a live-in relative try also tenants, they parents may trust him or her in the house with the kids (just not alone mind you) but it may be nice to actually know that persons name.

Case 3: Double check as to what kind of flora is in the home too, it doesn't hurt. Down the road you may find out that that is what has been making you sneeze all this time.
