Listen

"One cannot listen to what you don't say." - Unknown

Do you listen to others? Do you listen to their body language? Do you listen between the lines?

Have you ever found yourself in the position where you want to tell someone something but you just can't find the words to say? I've found myself in that position more than once but more than once I've found my own way out of it. I'll either tell them that I need to talk to them in a different way by moving my body in another direction, or by stating right out "I'm not totally comfortable with that subject."  Usually that works, but when it doesn't then usually the other person figures out that I'm not interested when I walk away.

I like to watch a persons body language to see if they become uncomfortable or too comfortable with the subject at hand. Too uncomfortable... I stop the subject and move on.
No big deal. If they get too comfortable then it's still time to move on. You may not want to hear them spill the beans on everything in their life. They may realize that they said to much and clam up themselves. We are curious creatures, but sometimes what we find out is not what we want to know.

Listen to your communication partner and listen to your own conscious,  If one or the other is telling you that something is wrong, then something probably is. Just keep that in mind.

Oh and Happy Easter Holiday Weekend :)

Laundry

I'm going to be crass here ladies and gentlemen and talk about my closet. Well, that is nothing new, but I'm talking about a particular drawer in my closet... my drawer of well, 'unmentionables.' To be more specific, my lingerie drawer. To break it down further... MY BRAS. Alright, gentlemen, you can take off now, have a nice day!
I have always had the problem of not being able to fit into my bras and so lingerie shopping is a bit of a problem for me. I'll try on a few and buy the one that fits the best that particular day and for the rest of the month suffer with the new bra until it is broken in. In this way I also have a tendency to buy the wrong size and I'll suffer because I have no idea what size I really am.

SOLUTION #1: Go to your nearest lingerie store and get your size done! I am aware that JC Penny has the occasional 'bra sizing day' which is convenient. Check the days, or call ahead, the girls at the desk might be more aware of it then I am! The other option that I know does it every day is Victoria's Secret at the mall, particular outlets or maybe there is a size chart on their website! At least once a year I go there and check it out and see whats on sale too!

SOLUTION #2: Buy that absolute perfect size that you know will fit you from now until you decide to stop wearing bras! (Which I think can be at any point in time...) Now take this size and write it on a card and stick it in your purse. Not a bad plan right? Just remember to move that card from purse to purse and you're all set! ALSO with this plan when you get sized at your linguine store use that card that you got from them and stick that in your purse too!

SOLUTION #3: You have bought your absolute favorite bra and you are all sized and you have your favorite size etc etc ... and now you wear it every day and you sash it everyday. Awesome! One light issue...  you forget what size it is and oh crap... the tag is gone. You no longer know the size of your favorite bra/size because the tag is gone. In my case usually this is because I've washed it so many times and it's now no longer legible. It happens. My solution? I take a sharpie and write in the strap write the size! Brilliant! Now it can't wash off and when it starts to get a little faded  I just touch it up! And now when I go shopping its there and ready for me and I don't need to search my purse again to look for that damn receipt!

Jean Shirt - Conservative

First off, this is NOT ME. Secondly... If you thought it was me, thank you! ☺

So today I was bored and didn't know what to wear to my internship so I decided to shop online for not only ideas but also an answer to what to do with this jean shirt that I've had that's been kicking around for a few summers.  That's when this baby popped up on my laptop. And the best part was, I had everything already!

Today's lovely conservative outfit is...
~ Jean Shirt
~ Black leggings/tight pants
~ Brown Boots
~ Brown scarf!

I got a few complements on it, so why don't you try it too?

Happy Shopping!

Now

Breathe
It's alright
Do the one thing that you can do
Now

Inhale
Fill your lungs
Slowly
Fill every vein of your body
With fresh cal air
Take it easy
Let it go
Now

Exhale
Through every pore of you soul
Let it all escape
Out go the worries and stresses
Let them be alone for just a moment
Get ready to inhale it all back in
Now

Inhale
One worry at a time
One problem
One issue
Each one gets their own individual time
Focus on it's solution
Then let it go
Now

Just Keep Breathing
Until Everything
Has a Solution

Bless You!

So the other day my friend sneezed and of course I went BLESS YOU! And like any good story, I recalled an anecdotal that my friend had shared with me regarding her little sister and how she remembered how to not say "Gesundheit!"

When she was very young they visited their grandmother often, who I take it was German. Not long after learning the phrase 'gesundheit' as young as they were they would repeat it. No harm done.

Well, the younger sibling took the phrase 'bless you' in German to heart and, as 4 year olds go, sometimes they don't quite understand or fully comprehend what they hear, and they'll still take it to heart. At the family function her little sister said to the grandmother after she sneezed, loud enough for all to hear:

"Your Bra's On Tight!"

I wonder if she's still the talk of the party!

The Skeleton Key

Wow. That is really all I can say about this movie. It was totally unexpected, the ending that is. It does start of a little slow but it does pick up quick! Kate Hudson is the lead female character of the movie and she plays a home nurse named Carolyn who becomes attached to a little old man who lives in a big old house with his er, loving, but scary looking wife. I'll be honest, she was a little spooky. Anyways, Caroline becomes the home nurse here in the boonies and finds that the mans affliction was something more than a stroke, something was up, and it was a bit more than a medical affliction. She sets out to cure him, believing that it will make him better, which in the long run is her very own downfall. Downfall? Find out and see!
If you believe that any thing can happen, then you will enjoy this movie. If you don't really like scary movies, like me, you just might enjoy it as well! It's a superb performance by all, especially the hot lawyer (sorry love!).

In Like a Lion...

Well, Hello again!
I know that I haven't posted an outfit in a while... and I apologize! Quite honestly I've been fishing out outfits from my lovely little notebook and make a few changes here and there. But this week I went on this new site (to me at least) and started pulling outfits from there for my wardrobe! Best part is... I haven't bought anything new yet again!

As for today, a lovely day in March I wore this stunning outfit. And I thought I'd share because so many people loved it!

Black Scarf: $4 (Ocean State Job Lot)
Grey Sweater: $7 (Old Navy)
Spotted button down: $$ (My favorite place!)
Black Cami: $$ (Christmas!)
Black pants $1 (Kohls, yes, Kohls!)
Brown tall boots: $17 (Marshall's)
= $30! and the best part is, most of these pieces go with other outfits!

Enjoy shopping at home! ♥

Brains, Brawn & Beauty

Dear Crush in High School.

I know that it's been what, four years since we parted on the stage. I was so proud to play at your graduation, even though I probably would never see you again. To hear your name being called as you walked across that stage, you took your diploma and after I saw you outside for a brief moment to call congratulations, you walked out of my life for the moment.

Oh sure, I heard about you in Yale and how you were doing so well, learning Latin of all things when you could be the next Marie Curie. Oh, did I say that out loud, my apologies. Just a slight slip. But, oh were you gorgeous. At that time in my head at least. I heard stories of how you snippy with your mother and sister and I didn't really want to believe (what girl wants to hear that thier crush really isn't that perfect?) and quite frankly ignrored them.

I would look for you at the parades, I knew that like me you would look for the band. The band is what really brought us together. Band, what interesting times. But boy could you play that trombone. But last year, when I congratulated you on Graduating from YALE you know what you did? Oh, no you didn't break my heart when you shot down a congratulations from graduating from a top school. You just made me realize something. Something very big.

You might have had the brains and the brawn, but honey...
I've got Brawn, Brains, and Beauty and I let everyone share it!
So Blow. On. That!

Sincerely...

~Me
