Dead Corpses

I came to when I hit the, shit.
Something grabbed Tink and pulled her out of my vision. A guy dressed like a security guy pulled the dead corpse through the water, and around the corner. Another came for Wendy and began to pull her, but, somehow, she escaped! She had only faked being a dead corpse! However, she was still in trouble as she had seen how many bodies there really was! "RUN WENDY, RUN!"
I was stuck, I was still woozy from the dip in the sludge and now... the guard had a firm grip on my collar. I had no where to go. As he dragged my hands and feet through the unspeakable and attached me to the walls, I tried to piece the situation together.
"Who could do this? And why would they want with Dave and the rest of those kids? I think that girl 'Tinkerbell' was on the task force, years ago, but, as I remembered, she had gone on a case undercover a few months back and I hadn't seen her since. Now I realize where she had been.
Tinkerbell, she was a tiny little girl but she could fit through any opening.  I recalled a case where my friend, Bonnie had been on a case with Tink and when they were in trouble Tink had found an opening that lead into a crypt. I only thought of that case now, as I had mistakenly thought all the bodies were dead in the crypt... and Wendy was still alive. Of course, we didn't expect the security guy to show up and try to kill us, again.
Bobbi was telling us about the story. Bobbi was a straight talker, with big beaver teeth that somehow made her look hotter than she was with her lips closed. Her jet black hair had a green streak through it, she said that her daughter decided to do that in the middle of the night for revenge and as a retort, she hadn't taken it out since. Bobbi told us that she was unfortunate enough to discover that the place was booby trapped. She had sent Tink in on a suicide mission and she didn't have enough time to warn her.
"Due to the quick action of the booby trap," she continued, "The mob got us. They shot down my partner, or so they thought, and nabbed me. Tink though, she's a good faker, and a fast runner. She got away, as for me... I was caught. They didn't torture me or anything. I was placed in their house and over time, I had free rein of the house. I could almost go out the door when company came but they threw me back inside. The phone was monitored. Since no one knew that I was here, in the 'safe house' I feared for the worst. Over time I was able to pick up the phone, I was given this responsibility, only because people didn't know I was actually here.
Often, they didn't say anything when I picked up. I wanted to see if I could relay a message but it hardly would've made a difference. Only mobsters and next victims called or visited.
I eventually was ignored ... I was not talked to or anything. I was fed, gained a few pounds,  not that you can notice now! But still no one talked to me. After about 2 months after coming to the house, I stopped talking all together and became mute. I feared that they at the station thought I was dead.
I remember thinking, about three or four months in, that I broke the coffee date that Tink and I had arranged about a week before I went missing.
About five months in, I had lost count by this point, I realized that the mob was getting a little more anxious about me picking up the phone, I wondered if there was a search party starting up for somebody... me.  I figured they already planned my funeral. Ha!" Bobbi had one of those loud laughs, that filled the room and grabbed everyones attention, if they weren't already entrapped!
"I can't believe that I actually had written out a will! I should have had more faith in Tink! I wrote in my will, 'My regret is that I did not have any kids, while I was young and going on 30 five times!"
"Well eventually I was rescued, by the small yet brave Tinkerbelle, good old Sheryll. Honey, I owe you more than life for pulling me out of another --!"
My memory was cut short as I recalled where I was at the moment. Chained to the wall of a crypt with dead men on my left, dead women on my right.
And I was all alone.

All alone to die.

Die.

Telephone

Anyone remember the game telephone as a kid? Really, it didn't take much!

There are a few different ways to play this game, one, with the tin cans and string, and the other, having everyone sit in a circle and by whispering the message into the next persons ear you send off a silly message. Well, today, I'd like to talk about BOTH.

The first one requires:

2 Tin Cans (clean and no labels)
1 Nail
1 Hammer
3 feet of string (anything fairly thick will do)
Duct Tape (use as needed)

To make a 'telephone' first you must take the nail and punch ONE hole into the bottom of the can using the hammer. It must be big enough to pass the string through.
Well, now you've guessed it, send the string through! However, start by sending the string through one can so that it is facing the open end. When you can pull it through enough, tie a knot. This is your anchor. For the second string, pass it through the end of the can, and send enough through so that when it reaches the opening, you can tie a second knot, or anchor. Be sure to have these knots strong enough so that they won't slip through when playing!
Now, you're ready to play telephone!
Have player one sit on the floor with one of the tin cans pressed firmly against his or her ear. Parents, if you want to take extra precaution, use duct tape to seal off the edge of the can.
Player two will speak clearly into thier can a silly message and hopefully player one can hear it!
Try this too going from room to room, you never know how far your message will carry!

The second game of telephone is alot like starting a rumor.
What you need to do is have everyone thats playing sit in a circle. A designated player will think of a simple, yet very silly phrase and whisper it into the person sitting next to them's ear.  If the message is not clear, the second person will say OPERATOR and the message will be repeated again. Operator can only be used once per person per round! If you don't understand the message the second time, then you just try your best and continue on!
The message should be delivered around the circle until it arrives back at the starter person. By this time the message should be fairly scrambled and very silly!
The next person in the circle comes up with the next phrase and the system continues again!
I've played this game a few times and there is always at least one smart-alek. If you can figure out who this person is in the beginning, give the smart-alek no chance of escape and have the phrase be about them!

Secret Window

HEY KATIE! THIS POST IS FOR YOU!

Johnny Depp. Always an interesting character. In this movie I definetly saw a few of his other characters, but I could NOT get over his hair cut here! Absolutely ridiculous! I wanted to cut it right then and there!

Anyways, the first time I watched this movie was New Years Eve/New Years Day 2007/2008. I remember cause I watched it in my best friends room at the time which incendentally enough about a year later was where my boyfriend at the time cheated on me. A YUP. Happy Memories.

These retellings of stories do have a purpose. You see, Mr. Rainey here had a similar problem. He caught his wife cheating on him one stormy winter night. but he's a writer so what does he do? He WRITES the perfect murder. At least, he thinks so.

Then one day, after he starts to get his life back together, somewhat, after finding his wife cheating, he gets a rude call from a stranger from Mississippi. John Shooter. A gun toting, truth seeker who has no qualms about twisting people into getting what he wants. A very twisted man.

So Twisted is this Shooter fellow, that he kills a dog, and two more people before Rainey can figure out who the heck this guy is and how to be rid of him forever. It's such a twisted ending, and such a cruel way of punishing people that it has taken me over 4 years to get the guts to watch this movie again! And, boy was the wait WORTH THE ENDING!

Also, after four years, you kind of understand a few more important details that you didn't quite understand the first time you watched the movie under the covers...

Happy Halloween!

James and the Giant Peach

Hello!
My class and I are reading this wonderful novel by Roald Dahl.
A master storyteller and extraordinaire.

This book holds the key to adventure, spirit and friendship. And knowing that really... Anything is possible!
You must remember however, as we embark on the wonderful journey, that we must throw all views of realism and remember that everything is all fantasy! If anything doesn't seem logical, remember that it is all Fiction! If a Giant Peach really did roll through your house and village, then people would think that you're off your rocker and send you to the loony bin.
However, if you lived in Dahl's world, anything is possible!

Characters: James, Centipede, Miss Spider, Miss Ladybug, Miss Silkworm, Miss Glow Worm, Old-Green-Grasshopper, and the late Aunt Spiker and Aunt Spounge
Setting: England, the Atlantic Ocean, and the United States of America
Plot: James is a lonely little English boy who is forced to live with two of his (I'm quite certain unrelated) aunts way inland away from his lovely little home by the sea. James meets an old, we'll call him a wizard, who gives him magical things and instruct him to not let anything else get anywhere near them! Well, that is a case of foreshadowing if I ever saw one. By and by, and true Roald Dahl style MAGIC starts to happen! Everything starts to a little bit differently for James, starting off with, he gains new friends, and has more real adventures than anyone else his age!

Well, enjoy the magic! And let me know what you think of this master story teller! ☺

What Happens in Heaven When We Pray?

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked
side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide
stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received."
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels
sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a
very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed.
"How is it that there is no work going on here?" I asked.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they
asked for, very few send back acknowledgments."
"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked.

"Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.
"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy."
"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity."

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day."
"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 700 million people in the world."

"If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are envied by and more blessed than three billion people in the world."
"If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare."

"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair."

"Ok, what now? How can I start?"

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
Have a good day. Count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along to
remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

ATTN: Acknowledge Department

"Thank you, Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for

giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it."

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed
with, how can you not send it on? I thank God for everything, especially all

my family and friends.

Mona Lisa

I SEE
a beautiful person sitting on the pedastal, awaiting her turn to be painted.
She's nervous, and doesn't know the impact of her beauty on the world.

I HEAR
snickering behind the artists back as he paints her hidden beauty.
Short breaths coming from the subject as she changes her mind.

I SMELL
homemade paints as they swirl on the palate, freshly ground this morning.
Smelling salts are also present, fro those who cannot handle the strong smells.

I FEEL
tingles rush down my spine as I witness this moment in history.
A sigh of awe breathes down my neck from the viewer behind me.

I TASTE
the homemade wine flow down my senses as I observed the scene.
The bitter foot stomped flavor was quelled by the goat cheese I had before.

Window Shopping

I know this is a bit gritty, and not exactly how I do my other posts... but I still enjoy doing this blog! We'll see how this goes, and if I like the layout we'll keep going with it!

This fantastic outfit was actually copied when I was out window shopping with a girlfriend of mine one weekend.
For the top, I'm wearing a short sleeved button down black shirt that has very tight arms when I try to move, but fortunately I didn't have to raise my arms that often today!
For the pants I wore my NEW grey pants that my Grandma just hemmed for me, and don't they look AMAZING??
Just absolutely fantabulous, if I can't say so myself!

I wore a black belt with the grey pants and it made the outfit look absolutely chic! I wore my black shoes with the silver buckle (which incidentaly matched my belt! For the rest of the jewelry I wore silver everything, silver bracelet, silver earrings and a silver necklace that was just long enough.
The day was fairly cool starting off, so I actually didn't wear a jacket, and when I left school later that day I still didn't need one because I was wearing all dark colors!
Marvelous! Those New York Stylists really know what they're doing when designing an outfit!

Blow Your Horn

Little Boy Blue come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow the cow's in the corn.
But where's the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under a haystack fast asleep.
Will you wake him? No, not I - for if I do, he's sure to cry

I'm in a bit of a nostalgic mood today, and upon research, found out that this poem really is not what we thought at first it meant! I thought it was about a little lazy Shepard's son, who neglects his job and the animals start wandering.
In reality the story is largely based on a young scholar who liked to 'blow his horn' about graduating early. Gee, if you were around now, I'd wish that you didn't talk about it so much. I'd write a poem about you too talking about how you are such a smarty pants. And commemorate you as a little boy. He he.
I'm sticking this under cliche, because don't we all know someone that likes to 'blow their horn' a lot? Sometimes that person likes to talk about how good they are in one subject, or how they are with a particular set of skills. Let's stop using this cliche ourselves and SHUT UP! If there is discussion about how we are good about a certain something, fantastic! Let's be modest and change the subject. Compliment someone else on something their good at, and let them be on the pedestal for the day.
Let's be modest, people, and let others have the spotlight.

Cup & Ball

Someone sent me this picture and I thought it was too cute not to share, so here you are!

Also, today is my birthday, so I thought I would share a little something special!

SO Imagine a day on the job with a few kids that are just a bit coo - coo BUT you can't let them out of the house. It's rainding, snowing, hailing, something is going on outside and you just can't let them leave.... and your boss will kill you too if they got a cold. Oh boy.

Here is a fun little game that you can create in about ten minutes and still have hours of fun!

You Need:
2-3 Paper Cups
1 Pair of strong Scissors
3 pieces of 1 foot long strings
Foil Paper

Directions:
1. Punch a hole in the bottom of the cup.
2. String the string through the hole and tie a knot
3. Take the other string and tie another knot. Around this knot wrap foil paper tightly and into the shape of a ball.
4. Toss the foiled ball into the air and by using the cup try to make a 'basket!'

See if you can beat your kids record... it's harder than it looks!

Precious

Precious. That's what she goes by, what she'd rather go by. Not her first name, not fatty, not stupid.
Precious.
And isn't life precious.
Precious Jones has been through an abusive life, first caused by her abusive father, then her abusive mother, taunts by people in and out of school and mentally as she begins to not believe in herself.
Then her principal puts her into the alternative school and life does become precious.
Precious has the opportunity to learn.
Opportunities to write.
Opportunities to be herself.
Which is what she needs.
After her second child is brought into this world, she makes the choice to leave behind what she knew before, all that was familiar and start a new life.
School continues, her babies are growing and she earns an award.
She finds friends but most important, she finds hope.
Hope that wasn't there before.
Sapphire brought to life an abused girl who went through a window to find herself.
If she can do it, ladies and gentlemen, I believe you can get through your every day trials.
Push yourself to your limits.
Or someone else may do it for you.

Ellen Tibbits

Characters: Ellen Tibbits, Austine Allen and thier classrom
Setting: Ellens and Austines school
Plot: Ellen has a deep dark secret that she can't tell anyone. It's so dark that she has to hide it from the other girls all fall, winter and spring. She's been getting away with it for a while... then Austine the new girl figured it out... because she's hiding the same exact secret! Austine and Ellen bond over hiding thier deep dark (and actually quite silly) secret! Then on the first day of thier new grade Ellen does something awful and Austine doesn't forgive her. Over time Ellen realizeds that it is really her fault but she struggles about whether she is the one who is wrong or if her best friend is. By and by, like best friends do, the air is cleared, but Ellen wonders if it really has, can you tell?

I know this is a childrens book but this week I had an incedent with some of my students and they started a ruckess. I read this book so that I could ask the girls to read and reflect on thier own actions these past few days. Will it work? I'll let you know!

Marriage or Relationship?

Choose wisely!!!

If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say it's not quite as good as his mother's

then adopt a dog.

If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour,
for as long and wherever you want ...

then adopt a dog.

If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies

...then adopt a dog.

If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores

...then adopt a dog !

If you want someone who never criticizes what you do,doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is really worth listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually ...

...then adopt a dog.

BUT, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness ....

.
.
.
.

...then adopt a cat!
You thought I was gonna say...
marry a man, didn't you?

Send this to all the women you know to brighten their day.
Send this to all the men just to annoy them!

You...

....have a GREAT Day !!!

Switcherooni

I know it's a bit drab and dreary, but the weather is bit like that these past few days... then I actually walk out the door and it is absolutely beautiful out and its too late to change! You've seen a few of these pieces before, the grey and silver sweater definetly and the black high heels (they're becoming my favorite set of heels lately) but you haven't seen this brown skirt too often. I found this in the bottom of the drawer again, like many of my fabulous pieces, and decided that the grey sweater would look fabulous with it! Well, it didn't look too shabby, but I knew that if I put the off white short sleeve shirt underneath the grey sweater would look too much like another outfit that I like to wear so I swapped it with a light green tank top.
The brown sweater is actually a bit long so to shorten it up I placed the brown skirt just about above my belly button and luckily it stayed there the whole time! Loved everything about it!
Oh and my jewelry? I wore that long necklace with the little hearts all around it and I got compliments on the skirt, the sweater and on the necklace... all at different times but compliments none-the-less!
I hope you have fun matching your colors, cause thats what I started off doing really, and hopefully you will be just as successful!
