Reading

Life is like an open book
Where everyday is a new page
When the days are slow
The pages turn slower
When the pages go fast
The days go by faster

We're only a chapter in each others lives
But I hope we will be more
Though my books just started
And yours has too

I hope that we'll be read
Together
Until the very end
We'll last until the very last chapter
The last sentence
The last word
And leave the reader with a feeling of sadness
Because there is no more to read

But we'll live beyond our own story
Like all good characters do
In the next book in our series

Waiting

I'm screaming.
Can't you hear me?
I'm yelling.
Shouting.
Practically going blue in the face.

You're clueless.
Can't you hear me?
You're waiting.
Silently.
Not a change in temper.

Until.

You're screaming.
You think I can't hear you?
You're yelling.
Shouting.
Turning blue in your face.

You think I'm clueless.
You think I can't hear.
I'm just waiting.
Patiently.
No change in my poker face.

Eventually 2

I've prayed for years for the man of my dreams to step in and save me from the loneliness
I've asked for him to be strong, gentle, able to dance and have a sense of humor
I've asked for a man that is protecting, loving, decent, and mild
And I now have such a man

I have a man who is loving from a distance
Who steps away when He believes I need a moment to grow
He is tall and handsome
And wants to dry all of my tears

I have a man who is strong and praises my world
Who protects me from the disasters of life
He may not dance but does try when I ask
And his sense of humor matches well with mine

I have a man who is loving, playful and wild
Who releases my wild side, is cheerful
And is funny, strong and protecting
In his arms I feel safe and beyond our years

I have this man and I believe he is the one
This is the one that will be by my side
His traits are all that I search for
I wished for the man
And he arrived
No more wishes for me

Victims

Around the corner from my home
Stands a barn that's far from repair
Broken windows
Shedding roof
The walls barely hold on
This is where the bodies are hidden

Under the barn where the horses once stood
Lies freshly filled graves
Where the musk of old rotting soil
Covers the scent of rotting flesh
Breathe in if you dare
This is where the bodies are hidden

Within the falling walls lie skeletons
Their loose jaws grinning wickedly
Staring with empty sockets
Into your living breathing soul
Keep looking if you dare
This is where the bodies are hidden

Gaze up into the rafters
Where sky and stars wink through the shedding roof
And victims arm dangle and sway
By the way of an untamed breeze
Listen to the creak of the wood against bone
This is where the bodies are hidden

This is where the bodies lie
Within shallow graves and cold winters
Of small animals trapped within the maze of humans
Trapped with no way out
Remember that these bodies lie in your home
This is where the bodies are hidden
