The youth of today
Know more than us

They can whiz by us on equipment 
That we built
Survive sicknesses
That once killed us
Solve crisises
That once plagued us
Understand problems
That once confused us
Invade in private places
That we didn't dare to go

The youth of yesterday
Know less than us

They can't understand technology
That we built
Survive sicknesses
That we found vaccinations for
Solve crisises
That we now find child's play
Understand problems
Which we have now solved
Avoided Private places
Which we dared to explore

The youth of today
Cannot teach the youth of tomorrow
As the youth of yesterday
Were not able to teach us

Can we learn from our mistakes
And teach the ones that come after
Or will we wallow in our mistakes
And refuse to learn again
