Cliff

Trees bend down
Struggle to thrive
             in a straight line
One pebble can
destroy the face of the wall
             begin an avalance
             bury secrets
            collapse over life
Carniverous birds hover
            scanning the empty canyon
            searching for a weary traveler
            who someday may be me
Parched tounge
Fading light
Cold winter winds
Time to climb
        Echoes of an exausted breath
        Numbing sensation of broken bones
       Stolen honest memories
                Fuel a hardened hearts climb
Grasp at broken branches
Brush of snapped vegetation
        Aid with strategic grips
              Poison Ivy
Small price to pay for a firm grip
Firm grip
      On my arm
Foolish thoughts of
           Rocks forming hands
           Frolicking Giants
           Angels Assisting
Demons daring to help a stranger
Lies these treacherous thoughts
Lies all lies
Lies brought down
       The Avalance
Lies brought
      The carrions
Lies
      Dug the Canyon
 But the Truth
      Carried me out
      Gave me water
      Fixed my bones
      Helped me breathe
                 The fresh free air
