The Microphone

Ugh. It's comedy night at the club again. COMEDY NIGHT. You know what that means.  Hundreds if not thousands of grubby little hands clutching me in their hot sweaty palms slobbering all over me, trying to tell jokes or make strange noises when really they're all just looking like damn fools who can't even tell a good joke. A FOURTH GRADER HAS A CLEANER MOUTH THAN YOU MORON!

Heh, comedy night. Who ever thought of such a thing. I'd rather be held by a real performer, a singer, or a song writer. A girl with a beautiful voice and soft hands. She would sing and sing and sing and sing in her beautiful voice. I would use my fullest potential to fill the theatre with her voice, fill every crevice with her notes and let all near by hear her gorgeous voice. I would be a great wonder and she will love me... unlike these jerks who smell like garbage.

Or what if I could be in a performance like on Broadway. I could give a louder voice to Hamlet or Romeo and be the dashing hero who saves somebody or something. I could be the extra boost that makes his career, give him the extra leg up in a budding career and he would take me with him to see the world... I could get out of this crummy town and see France, see China, see.. see the world. And get out of this Town!

Or maybe I could be the narrator in a young children's performance. I could be there to help the narrator introduce the little girl as she began her ballerina performance. I could be there to help narrate the young boys fast moving silent comedic rant about school. I could be there for the duet of the two best friends fighting over who gets to dance with the invisible boy. Then there is the silent portrayal of those who are making a pot of soup and all add way too much salt but the only one who notices is the mother who started the soup. One of my favorite shows that I like to watch from the side.

Oh, if only I could leave this ridiculous night club. If only I could leave the hot breath and strange noises that these people make. I was made for a greater stage. And someday I will be there. Sigh, Someday.
