A Triple Take Night

Half a dozen more kisses and I’d be spending the night in Heaven
More than you’ve ever given me before, and perhaps ever will
I didn’t think of you tonight when I lay upon the love seat
And perhaps this night was for the better for both of us

To be honest I needed to warm up, and find out who you are
I’ve learned now that each day is a gift, and an unseen smile from you
Which is relief, because, I don’t want to know who you are anymore
And perhaps this night was better for the both of us

It’s who we are, first friends, introduced by a friend
Small introduction, but it can never quite be repaid
She knows as much as I know and that’s all that needs to be said
And perhaps this night was better for the both of us

You are warm, and comforting, I could be with you longer than a day
I miss you, you laugh, your smile and your tight embrace
We are from different puzzle pieces, you and I, and that is not what is nice
And perhaps this night was better for the both of us

Give me a reason now, to not appreciate what you give
Your help, your voice; your presence is always enough
It’s not enough to be supernatural or an unoriginal fiend
And perhaps this night was better for the both of us

I fall asleep happily when being with you this night
Don’t we know that I have done it many times before?
To not dream of you is more than I can ask for
And perhaps this night was better for the both of us

Tell me again how you enjoyed being with me tonight
How you can stay up all night just talking to me
Instead of leaving me for hours wondering and crying
And perhaps these nights are better for the both of us
