Housesitting Day 3

I survived the night! Although, I woke up in the middle of the night listening to 48 hours and I had my whole life flash by by pictures... and that's a scary dream! I still don't know who 'murdered' me though... maybe that's tonight's dream!

I actually took a shower today at this house. You think you're smart until you try to take a shower at someone else s house. After a quick breakfast of eggs, cleaned up the house, I was back out the door! ... to feed and the chickens. Or so I thought. The neighbor's girls had already taken care of them! Sneaky kids. I suppose if I got out the door before 10 a.m. I would have taken care of it myself!

I still haven't seen the black cat. Hopefully it'll show up soon and then I'll know that it's getting fed!

I'm staying at my own house tonight since we're having guests, but I got the kids to take care of the chickens for me for the night.

Yes! My own sweet bed tonight! Oh joy...

See you tomorrow!

Housesitting Day 2

Hello again! I survived the night, and the neighbors after they came by to check up on me and see if the house was still standing. I'm not kidding.

The neighbors kids took care of the chickens for me, the fed them, watered them and took all the eggs! That's alright, they're sweet kids!

I got up, and had some eggs that were stashed away in the fridge. Fresh eggs really do taste better! I've got an easy-peasy scrambled egg recipe on here for you try later on!

Later, I got dressed and went off into the wide world back to my house for lunch, as I didn't think that far ahead and buy myself some real food! Oh, and smarties. I have to have my smarties.

On my way home I stopped at Stop & Shop and bought some supplies for another recipe that I wanted to try and salsa and dip for Saturday Night Live! Bit of a boring day... but wait! There was work! Which of course, went by quickly.

I did get to try some Sangria though... That was delicious!

Oh! It's time for SNL! Night!

Housesitting Day 1

Well, I am house-sitting for a dear friend and I've decided to Journal my adventures. This is going to be a fun experience because not only do I have the house to myself, but I have to take care of her two cats and plethora of chickens! I've left the comforts of home, such as mom made cooking and most of my laundry, at home and I have to fend for myself most of the time! I know the neighbors which is the good news, and the house, so I'm pretty well off!

During my time here I will be holding two jobs, starting a new job, studying for a test and taking care of the animals. I will also be making my own food, doing my own laundry (as I know how) and getting myself out of bed on time to go to work, the test, etc. This is going to be one heck of an adventure and I'm going to enjoy just about every minute of it!

So, today is day one. I'm staying the night on the couch because I can't stand sleeping on her bed and I've discovered how to use the remote. I don't have to cook my own dinner because my mother cooked for me and I should be studying but instead I'm trying to figure out the house myself. I did go to a study session earlier in the day, I didn't go to work, so I feel like I did take care of it, but I really should study some more.

Well, the chickens are in the coop, the cats are fed (only one is around, strange) and I'm off to bed as well.

G'night! xo - E

Scrambled Eggs.

So, I'm house-sitting and I havent' a clue as to what to make for dinner. So, I call my mother and she tells me over the phone how to make scrambled eggs! What's better than scrambled eggs for breakfast? And since I'm not the greatest cook, it seems like a great idea!

Need:
2-3 eggs (depending on how hungry you are)
2-3 T of milk
salt
pepper
frying pan
spatula

Directions
- Crack the eggs into the bowl and add the milk, salt and pepper. With a fork stir it all together until it makes a lovely GOOP
- Lightly oil the frying pan, or melt some butter on it so the eggs won't stick to the pan
- Pour onto the frying pan which you have covered and wait a few minutes. Then with the spatula flip the eggs over in random places until they have begun to clump up. When they are cooked all the way through (when you stop seeing yellow goo) they're done! I usually add a tad bit more salt before adding them to my plate, but you can season them to your taste.
- Enjoy!
